Vegan Shabu Shabu

This post was just created to show you that you can compile all of the veggies you have left at the end of the week, and make a delicious hot pot!

The most important part of hot pot is the sauce! Even though these are the same ingredients you ate throughout the week, you can create a different experiences based on the sauces you make. Hot pot traditionally has a huge variety of sauces, but here’s what I like to do. For my first sauce, I use minced garlic and jalepeno.

To the garlic and jalepeno, I add two tbsp of soy sauce, one tsp sesame oil, one tbsp hot oil (mostly the flakes, less of the oil), and cilantro.

For my second sauce, I make a variation on sesame sauce. I honestly don’t know how it’s supposed to be made, so I do my own thing. I use two tbsp tahini, one tbsp sugar, and half a teaspoon of miso paste. I mix that all together and that’s the base of my sesame sauce. You can add whatever toppings or flavors you like to it.

I like using a little bit of hot oil and soy sauce.

IMG_5395IMG_5398That’s it! Use that mushroom broth once again, and add in all your favorite ingredients for a simple and easy hot pot!
